About the Foundation

On the 8th of August 2024, Awua-Mensah Smiles Foundation became recognized as a registered non-profit organization in Ghana, West Africa. With 26 committed volunteers and counting, our mission is to cultivate a society where excellent oral healthcare is accessible and prioritized for all, with a particular focus on children.

Through your donations (by cash or kind), we are able to see a future where children and the homeless receive regular dental checkups, education, and preventive treatments, fostering a healthier and happier society.

Aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Awua-Mensah Smiles Foundation strives to achieve the following:

SDG Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being: By providing preventive oral healthcare services and education to children, we contribute to reducing oral diseases and promoting overall well-being (SDG 3.3). By offering dental care to the homeless population, we address their health inequalities and ensure they have access to essential healthcare services (SDG 3.8).

SDG Goal 4: Quality Education: We integrate oral health education into our programs for children, empowering them to make informed choices about their oral health (SDG 4.7).

SDG Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities: By prioritizing underserved communities like children and the homeless, we aim to reduce inequalities in access to oral healthcare (SDG 10.1).

Purpose

To provide accessible and quality oral health care services to children and the homeless population in Ghana.
To promote oral health education and awareness within communities.
To advocate for policies that improve oral health access and equity.
To collaborate with government agencies, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to achieve its mission.
To align its activities with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education).
